Windows 8

NTHUSIM now supports Windows 8.

Okay, so maybe not the ARM version of Windows 8, but you're not really looking to warp your phone, right?

Both the 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows 8 are supported. DirectX 11.1 is not supported yet, but it's coming. Also, if you find an application that uses it, please let us know :)

Head Mounted Display (HMD)

Back in 1995 Nintendo released the "Virtual Boy", a head mounted display console. About 750,000 units shipped world wide, which made it a commercial failure. But the dream never died and to this day home-brew code is still being written for the Virtual Boy!

April Fool's Day is (almost) here. And that makes it one year since we publicly launched NTHUSIM!

Clearly this means we have to launch the next generation of NTHUSIM today.

Today we are pleased to release Version 2.0 of NTHUSIM!

This version is the culmination of a significant development and testing effort to bring you full 32bit and 64bit Windows support. In fact it has been such a big change that it warrants a whole new major version number! So now we have NTHUSIM version 2.0. On the outside it looks very similar to NTHUSIM 1.1, but on the inside it is all shiny and new!
